【译文】 孔子说：“譬如堆山，还差一筐，没堆成就停了，功亏一篑是自己造成的；譬如填坑，只倒一筐，继续填下去，坚持不懈是自己决定的。”

译文：凡是一个人要做一件事情，就必须把全部的精神都集中在这件事情上，从开头到结尾都不能松懈，不可以看到别的就改变主意，做着这件事又想着那件事，坐在这座山上又望着那座山。一个人如果没有恒心，一辈子都不会有什么成就。
