出自先秦《荀子·非相》。君子自己贤能而对他人的疲弱无能也能容忍，自己机智而对他人的愚蠢也可容忍，自己知识广博而对他人的浅薄也能予以宽容，自己道德纯粹而对他人的道德不高也能宽容。说明君子要有容人的雅量，不可以自己的标准衡量一切人。
