出自北齐·颜之推《颜氏家训·教子》。慈，慈爱。则，那么。畏慎，畏惧、谨慎。矣，句末语气助词。父母有威严也有慈爱，那么子女就会畏惧、谨慎而生孝顺之心。孝子是靠严格而慈祥的方法培养出来的，不是一味溺爱就能教育出来的。

【译文】 仲弓问仁。孔子说：“出门时要象会见贵宾一样庄重，建工程时要象举行盛大祭典一样严肃。自己不愿做的，不要强加于人。同事中相处融洽，亲属中和睦友爱。”仲弓说：“我虽不才，愿照此办理。”
