能经常感到满足的人，上天不能使其沦落贫穷；能够做到不贪求的人，上天不能使其卑贱；能将躯体看作身外之物的人，上天不能使其患病；能够做到不贪恋生命的人，上天不能使其死亡；能够做到随遇而安的人，上天不能使其困顿；能积极奖掖后进、培养人才的人，上天不能使其孤立；能挺身而出，为天下所有人以及子孙后代造福请命的人，上天不会使其陷入绝境。

道德的营养不良和精神的中毒对人的心灵的危害，正如身体的营养不良对于身体健康的危害一样。
