在引起并维持学生的学习动机上，鼓励学生发问或对某个主题做评论是不错的方式。由学生自发的问题与评论可以提供值得老师把握的教学时机，让老师可以暂停原来预定的教学顺序，转而探讨学生的问题。这些问题或评论就是提出来的学生所感兴趣的，也可能是大部分学生会感兴趣的。
