【原文】子贡曰：“贫而无谄，富而无骄，何如?”子曰：“可也。未若贫而乐，富而好礼者也。”子贡曰：“《诗》云：‘如切如磋，如琢如磨’，其斯之谓与?”子曰：“赐也，始可与言《诗》已矣，告诸往而知来者。”【译文】子贡说：“贫穷却不阿谀奉承，富贵却不狂妄自大，怎么样?”孔子说：“可以了。(但是)不如贫穷而乐于道，富贵而谦虚好礼的好。”子贡说：“完善自身的修养，既像雕刻骨器，又像雕刻象牙；既像雕琢玉器，又像雕刻石头一样下功夫，恐怕说得就是这个道理吧?”孔子说：“子贡啊，现在可以与你谈诗了。提起学过的知识，你就知道将要学的知识，并有所发挥。”

幸福与不幸常常紧密相连，我们应当学会在顺境中保持警惕，在逆境中保持希望。生命与死亡相伴而行，我们应该珍视每一刻，既不过度恐惧死亡也不过分执着于生存。只有在生死之间找到平衡，才能成就一番伟业，获得真正的名声。这种看待生死的态度，太能够引领我们走向成熟与从容的人生了！并且能够在生命的不同阶段保持内心的平和。

未来属于那些能够适应和进化的人。
