出自先秦《荀子·子道》。服从真理而不服从君主，服从道义而不服从父命。说明在真理、道义与君令、父命相矛盾时要服从前者，意在强调唯“道”、“义”是从的理念。

以德行来排列位次，按官职来处理政事，按照劳绩来决定赏赐，衡量功勋二分给俸禄。
