译文：修性养心最好的方式就是少些欲望，培养廉洁的美德最好的方式就是不要心存贪念。赏析：人的欲望太多，贪念过盛，一旦无法满足，就会伤身费神。守身必谨严，养心须淡泊。为了追逐名利，有的人忘乎所以，最终走上违法犯罪的道路。
君子掌权临事，那么连小人都能变为君子，处在这种情况里，还不能成为君子的，那就是货真价实的小人了；小人弄权擅事，那么一般人都沦为小人，处在这种局面下，仍然不沦为小人的，那就是不折不扣的君子了。
